NSPC
The
North Suburban Planning Council (NSPC) is composed
of eight towns and one city that have formed a voluntary
association to facilitate cooperative regional planning.
The goal of the North Suburban Planning Council is
to preserve the characteristics and physical attributes
that distinguish the region as an attractive and desirable
place to live and work.
NSPC's nine member communities
are:
NSPC was formed in 1989 when
nine communities signed a Memorandum of Understanding
and adopted bylaws. NSPC is composed of three representatives
from each community and the Executive Director of
MAPC. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of
the month from 8:30-10:00 AM. Meeting locations rotate
among member communities.
The benefits of participation
in NSPC are many:
- Timely notification and information
on issues of importance
- A critical role in influencing
regional transportation policy
- A strong, united voice on
issues of concern to communities
- A forum for exchange of information
between municipal officials.
