Brad Downey joined MAPC’s Municipal Collaboration team full-time in November 2020 as the Grants Management Coordinator. Brad is currently the Health and Medical Coordination Coalition (HMCC) Region 3D co-coordinator, responsible for organizing regional collaboration between 15 municipal health departments in Northeast Massachusetts. He also helps manage procurement and spending for the region through the HMCC’s Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant program. In addition to his work with the HMCC, Brad assists with the management and administration of Federal Homeland Security grant funding received by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Prior to MAPC, Brad interned at the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Falmouth, MA and the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management, both in roles that focused on community outreach and education about local coastal environmental issues. Brad also interned in the Easton, MA Department of Planning & Economic Development. Brad first joined MAPC in November 2019 as a Grants Management Intern.

Brad received a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Community Development from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2020. In 2016, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Community Development from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
