Biography:
Abigail Bliss joined MAPC in 2022 as an Economic Development Planner II within the Land Use – Economic Development team. She works on a wide variety of projects in local communities, with a particular focus on sustainable and equitable economic development, including commercial/industrial land use plans, commercial district and small business recovery, and workforce and wealth creation activities.
Prior to joining MAPC, Abigail supported and facilitated community development efforts at the local, regional, and state levels. Most recently, at the Cape Cod Commission, she advanced multi-disciplinary community planning initiatives addressing a range of themes related to economic development, including childcare access and affordability, economic recovery and resilience, and inclusive historic preservation and programming. Abigail contributed to these efforts through demographic and economic research, surveys and stakeholder engagement, and technical assistance to the Commission’s municipal partners. Her prior experience also includes supporting small business COVID-19 relief/recovery programs and other community development activities at the City of Cambridge.
Abigail holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and English from Amherst College and a Master in City Planning degree from the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning.
