Grants Management and Procurement Specialist, Associate MCPPO
Christine Howe joined the Municipal Collaboration Department’s Homeland Security Division as a Grants Management and Procurement Specialist in June, 2016 to assist with management and procurement of the State Homeland Security Program grants for the four Homeland Security Regions.
Ms. Howe provides fiduciary, planning, and administrative support to the Homeland Security Regions and their Councils. Ms. Howe conducts procurements on behalf of all of the homeland security regions, as well as processes vendor payments and ensures all Council budgets are accurate and up to date. Additionally, Ms. Howe assists with the management of the Shannon Community Safety Initiative for the municipalities and programs within the Metro Mayors Coalition.
Prior to joining MAPC, Ms. Howe served as the public policy and finance coordinator for the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS. She managed the association’s political action committee and accompanying programs as well as provided support to the legal and the finance departments. Additionally, Ms. Howe serves on the Town of Stoughton Finance Committee and Open Space and Land Use committee.
Ms. Howe attended UMASS Amherst, where she earned a BA in Legal Studies and a BA in Spanish. In 2015, she received a Masters degree in Public Administration from UMASS Boston’s McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies. She has earned an Associate Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO) designation.
