Public Health Planner
Elaine joined the Public Health team in January 2019. As a Public Health Planner, Elaine’s work is focused on working collaboratively with local public health departments and boards of health on projects to increase their capacity to either collectively or individually provide Foundational Public Health Services. She will also assist municipalities with the development of healthy community design projects and initiatives that will address social determinants of health.
Prior to joining MAPC, Elaine conducted research and evaluation as a Research Associate at Institute for Community Health (ICH). Elaine helped local community-based organizations, hospitals, and community health centers understand the impact of their programs within their communities. Her responsibilities included data analysis, conducting focus group, and report writing. Elaine also served as a Community Engagement Intern at Boston Alliance for Community Health. As an intern, she worked on a three-year initiative called Let’s Get Health, Boston! funded by the CDC. Elaine collaborated with community based organizations to make it easier for residents in Boston to make healthier choices around physical activity, food and beverage choices, and smoke free housing.
Elaine has a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
