Biography:
Lisa Carbonell joined MAPC in 2022 as a Care Resources Coordinator of the North Suffolk Public Health Collaborative, serving Winthrop, Revere, and Chelsea in Massachusetts. In her role as a Public Health Specialist at MAPC, Lisa provides support to other members of the Collaborative and provides resources to cases in COVID-19. Currently, Lisa is enrolled in her second year of a PhD program in Social Work Administration of Social Programs and Policy at Ana G Mendez. Lisa holds a Master’s degree in psychology from Inter-Americana University of Puerto Rico Metropolitan Campus, as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Her experience includes working as a certified community health worker during COVID-19 emergency, offering support to families during the grieving process, teaching caregivers about dementia, supporting families with mental health problems, and working with individuals with substance abuse issues.
As part of the Public Health team at MAPC, Lisa focuses on enhancing local public health departments’ capacity to address social determinants of health and increase health equity through the mapping of regional resources and the provision of direct support to residents who require health and human services. As a masters-level behavioral health clinician, Lisa has extensive experience treating patients suffering from geriatric conditions and dementia, as well as substance abuse disorders.
