IT Helpdesk Generalist
Tyrone Calliste joined MAPC’s Data Services team as the IT Helpdesk Specialist in November 2019. He works with the IT Support team to identify and solve computer issues, upgrade desktop applications and hardware, and address employee technology concerns.
Ty is currently working on upgrading all MAPC computers in preparation for Windows 7 end of life to ensure a safe and secure working environment. In addition, Ty is working on documentation, creating a greater knowledge base for employees use, and internal IT procedures.
Previously, Ty worked for Lasell University as the Application Support Specialist. In this role, he helped administer and support a multitude of applications for the institution. He worked with software vendors to implement upgrades and enhancements. His many projects included transitioning from the LMS, Moodle, to Canvas and implementing a security awareness training for employees called Sans Securing the Human. Ty also worked for Brandeis University and served in various roles for the IT department, including supporting the Learning Management System Deployment Specialist for the computer refresh program and as the Desktop Support Specialist.
Ty went to Brandeis University for his undergrad and completed four years of study, majoring in philosophy. He is also a JAMF Certified Casper Administrator.
