Biography:
Avanti Krovi joined MAPC in 2024 as a Senior Regional Land Use Planner. She works with local communities across the metro region on a wide variety of projects that support land use for master planning, housing, equitable economic development, and environmental resiliency.
Prior to joining MAPC, Avanti worked at the Nowak Metro Finance Lab at Drexel University, where she supported neighborhood investment strategies in Philadelphia. She worked with state, local, and nonprofit partners to identify opportunities that could channel state and federal funding for affordable housing and economic development—based on this work, she accordingly developed actionable strategies for neighborhood stakeholders, and policy recommendations for the city and state. At Drexel, she also advised alongside the U.S. Economic Development Administration on economic development strategy and implementation for awardees of the Build Back Better Regional Challenge. Avanti additionally has previous work experience in Boston, where she worked with the Boston Planning & Development Agency on various research projects.
Avanti holds a Master in Urban Planning degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from The Ohio State University.
