Biography:

Community Engagement Planner Gloria Huangpu joined MAPC in 2021 as an intern in the Community Engagement Department and stayed on as a Community Engagement Specialist. Gloria works with municipalities to develop robust community engagement strategies that center historically marginalized groups. She has brought this expertise to projects across the various planning disciplines at MAPC, working on housing production plans, comprehensive plans, climate action plans, and more. Gloria also oversees MAPC’s Technical Assistance Program, which grants over $1 million annually to support municipalities with achieving local and regional goals.

Gloria has a master’s degree from Tufts University’s Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning. She has an undergraduate degree in History of Art with a minor in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to planning, Gloria researched human resources (HR) best practices and advised HR executives on topics like workforce reskilling, leadership development, and HR technology at Gartner.
