MAPC Promotes Jessie Partridge Guerrero to Director of Data Services
Boston – April 4, 2024 – The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) has named Jessie Partridge Guerrero as the agency’s director of data services, a crucial position that leads a team of planners, data scientists, digital technologists, researchers, and software developers dedicated to using data and technology to support informed and equitable decision-making. Partridge Guerrero served as the interim director of data services for eight months and was the manager of MAPC’s research division.
Partridge Guerrero managed the MetroCommon 2050 research agenda and has contributed to every major research project undertaken by MAPC in the past five years, including regional indicators reports, state of equity policy agendas, critical analysis during the COVID-19 pandemic, and more recently, major reports on flooding, rental assistance, and investor influence in the housing market.
“Jessie is a major practitioner of qualitative and mixed-methods research and helped MAPC enter both of those fields,” said Executive Director Marc Draisen. “She steadfastly works to advance MAPC’s mission in all she does, serving the region’s residents, workers, and municipalities, and is passionately devoted to advancing equity in the region and democratizing the use of data to improve public decision-making.”
Partridge Guerrero joined MAPC in 2013 – prior to, she was a research consultant at Community Labor United, where she co-authored Route to Our Future, a report detailing equitable and sustainable policy strategies for Massachusetts’ regional transit systems. She also worked as a process engineer at Mott MacDonald, where she specialized in process simulation and detailed engineering design in the renewable energy field. She holds a Master of Arts in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering, both from Tufts University.
“Our data services department is setting a new research agenda for MAPC, expanding our digital equity work, and supporting our municipal partners with unmatched data-driven clarity. Jessie is uniquely suited for the role, and we know she will do great things as a director, a leader, and a mentor of MAPC staff,” said Deputy Executive Director Lizzi Weyant.
