Saugus Natural Hazards and Climate Preparedness Virtual Feedback Session

Town of Saugus

Natural Hazards and Climate Preparedness

Virtual Feedback Session

Welcome to the Town of Saugus’ virtual feedback session. The Town of Saugus has been working with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to complete a joint Hazard Mitigation Plan and Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (HMP-MVP) Plan.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan prepares for all natural (weather related) hazards. The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) plan prepares for projected climate-related increases in heat, precipitation, drought, and sea level rise.

Completion of the Hazard Mitigation Plan will make Saugus eligible for FEMA grants to implement recommended measures. Completion of the MVP plan will certify Saugus as an MVP community and make Saugus eligible for state grants to implement recommended priorities.

Your feedback is critical to the success of the plan. The current COVID-19 pandemic necessitates that we gather your input virtually. Please listen to the following presentation, review the MVP workshop report, and then respond to the survey questions to share your observations, concerns, and priorities.

Please provide your feedback by Wednesday, January 6, 2021 for inclusion in the final MVP report.
