June 20, 2025 - BOSTON - The Metropolitan Area Planning Council seeks public input on the final draft of its 2025–2030 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), a five-year roadmap to guide inclusive and resilient economic growth across the Greater Boston region.
MAPC serves as the designated Economic Development District (EDD) for Greater Boston under the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration. As the regional EDD, MAPC is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of the CEDS, which outlines priority strategies to strengthen the economy, support small businesses, expand workforce and housing access, invest in infrastructure, and plan for emerging industries.
The CEDS was developed through extensive stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and collaboration with municipal officials, community-based organizations, business leaders, and workforce partners. The strategy reflects MAPC’s commitment to building a thriving regional economy that promotes equitable opportunity, long-term resilience, and broadly shared prosperity.
