SHARON’S DRAFT HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN TO BE PRESENTED AT MARCH 28 PUBLIC MEETING


Meeting to present the 2017 update of Sharon’s
Hazard Mitigation Plan and solicit public comments

 

Who:
Sharon residents, business owners, representatives of non-profit organizations and institutions, and others who are interested in preventing and reducing damage from natural hazards.

What:
At the Sharon Board of Selectmen meeting on Tuesday, October 3 at 7:00 PM, a presentation will be made by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), which is assisting the Town on the 2017 update of its Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The Town of Sharon adopted its first Hazard Mitigation Plan in 2010, which was approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The plan identifies natural hazards affecting Sharon such as floods, hurricanes, winter storms, and earthquakes, as well as actions that the Town can take to reduce its vulnerability to these hazards.
