GJMBC Overview
Funded by a $23 million “Good Jobs Challenge” award from the Economic Development Administration in 2022-2026, the Good Jobs Metro Boston Coalition (GJMBC) brought together employers, workforce training providers, job seeker sourcing partners, and supportive service providers to build sector-based workforce pipelines in childcare, clean energy, and healthcare sectors. These sector partnerships focused on increasing job quality and filling workforce gaps in sectors critical to the Boston region’s economy.

Our Involvement
Acted as Strategic Partner to the City of Boston as the System Lead Entity
City of Boston Office of Workforce Development led the GJMBC as the EDA Good Jobs Challenge Awardee, supported by MAPC’s Economic Development Division
Our involvement
Conducted an Evaluation of the GJMBC program outcomes
Evaluated the successes and challenges of the GJMBC in summer-fall 2026.
Our Involvement
Provided hands-on support to the Clean Energy sector partnership to engage employers and connect participants with good jobs in the clean energy sector
MAPC’s Clean Energy Department connected with over 1,500 regional clean energy employers, including through partnerships with Emerald Cities Collaborative, Browning the Green Space, and Alliance for Climate Transition.

Organized 10 convenings of the Coalition throughout the grant period
Convened the dozens of GJMBC partners for mutual support and learning.
