Biography:

Adam Ploetz, Manager of Housing & Neighborhood Development, leads MAPC’s housing planning practice with a focus on expanding housing affordability, diversity, and stability across the region. Adam works closely with municipalities to create and implement housing, zoning, Fair Housing, and mixed-use development strategies, monitors regional housing trends and develops policy and planning initiatives that address local and regional housing needs while advising government partners on best practices.

Adam brings extensive leadership experience in housing, economic development, and community planning across federal, regional, and local organizations. As Director of HUD’s Boston Office of Community Planning & Development, he led a team of 20 administering $400 million annually in affordable housing, infrastructure, and community development resources throughout Massachusetts and New England. Earlier roles included positions at the 495/MetroWest Partnership, the Amherst, NY Industrial Development Agency, and the International City/County Management Association.

Adam is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
