Biography:

Apple Gould-Schultz joined MAPC in 2026 as a Transportation Planner I. Apple’s work includes exploring the relationship between traffic and housing, facilitating municipal coordination on greenway projects, easing transit gaps, and expanding pedestrian and bicycle access in the region. Additionally, Apple works across the transportation team’s projects, providing technical assistance and contributing additional research.

Before joining MAPC, Apple worked at the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments, where she worked on multi-mobility projects in the Greater Lowell region. In this role, she focused on expanding pedestrian access in suburban and rural communities; coordinated state and federal grants; developed a design-only funding program for advancing major multi-mobility construction projects; and analyzed vehicle traffic volume trends in the region. Prior to becoming a transportation planner, Apple conducted research on the urban heat island effect and tree planting as a solution to stormwater runoff, both focused in Worcester, MA. She enjoys connecting her work in transportation to her background in and love for public green spaces.

Apple is a graduate of Clark University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science.
