Biography:
Emily Wanzer is serving as an American Connection Corps AmeriCorps member at MAPC. With a focus on digital equity, Emily is placed in the Digital Services team, contributing to digital equity plans and working alongside members of the Community Engagement and Municipal Collaboration teams for MAPC’s Apartment Wi-Fi program. Emily works with housing providers to engage residents in the program, including understanding existing concerns, creating outreach plans, and evaluating program impact. They also engage with staff across departments, adding capacity to various projects.
While living in Vermont, Emily worked as a Food Access Intern with the Vermont Farm to Plate Network (hosted by the Agency of Agriculture Food and Markets and Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund), creating profiles on innovative food justice projects around the state. They also were a Student Organizing Fellow with Resource Generation, focusing on bringing college students with access to wealth and/or class privilege into the movement to redistribute wealth and power. After finishing their final credits at Universidad de Concepción in Chile, Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Vermont.
Since moving back to their home state, Emily has worked on the field crew at Drumlin Farm and is contemplating getting into flag football.
