Biography:
Georgia Barlow joined MAPC in 2022 as Government Affairs Specialist. She works with legislators and partners to center equity in transportation, public health and safety, housing, and other policies.
Prior to joining MAPC, Georgia was a Research and Policy Analyst at the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice in Louisiana, where she worked to advance racial equity in the state through legislative advocacy. There, her particular focus was on environmental justice and criminal justice reform. As an active member of the Medical Reserve Corps in New Orleans, Georgia has emergency preparedness and disaster response experience, and she is passionate about weaving climate change resilience strategies into her portfolio of work.
Georgia has undergraduate degrees in Political Science and International Development and a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Environmental Disaster Management, both from Tulane University.
