Biography:
Julia Nassar joined MAPC’s Clean Energy Department in 2022 as a Climate and Energy Planner II. In this role, she supports municipalities developing and implementing climate action and net zero plans, provides technical assistance to communities participating in the Commonwealth’s Green Communities Program, and other initiatives at the intersection of climate, equity, and public health.
Prior to joining MAPC, Julia worked as a Senior Analyst on the Sustainability and Resilience Team at the Cadmus Group where she supported local and state governments, such as Washington DC, Fairfax County, and New York State, developing and implementing their climate action and resilience plans. Julia was the Project Manager for Climate Ready DC, Washington DC’s 5-year Climate Adaptation Plan, where she designed and led projects to enhance the District’s heat, flooding, and energy resilience.
Julia holds an MS in Energy and Environmental Analysis and a BA in Environmental Analysis and Policy from Boston University. In 2021, she received a Certificate in Climate Change and Health from the Yale School of Public Health. She is a member of the American Society of Adaptation Professionals (ASAP) and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
