Biography:

Norman Abbott joined MAPC in 2023 as the Senior Government Affairs Specialist. In this capacity he works with stakeholders and legislators to advance economic development, arts and culture, and clean energy policy that forward the goals of MAPC’s MetroCommon 2050 regional plan.

Prior to joining MAPC, Norman worked for elected officials and nonprofits serving Massachusetts and New England. Most recently, he served as the Regional Director in Congressman Seth Moulton’s office where he assisted with economic development and transportation policy as well as outreach to a wide variety of stakeholders. Norman also worked in the Executive branch as an aide to Governor Deval Patrick before joining the New England Anti-Defamation League, where he helped advance the agency’s state and local civil right legislative agenda.

Norman received his BA from Wheaton College (MA) and his MPP and MBA from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
