Biography:

Sharon Ron joined the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) in July 2017. Sharon’s work at MAPC focuses on using planning and health information to support engagement and inform decision-making. As a Senior Public Health and Regional Planner, she manages public health planning projects with municipal partners and contributes to MAPC’s efforts to assess the health impacts of planning and policy decision-making across the region.

Her work at MAPC includes Community Health Needs Assessments and Health Improvement Plans, Health Lens Analysis and Health Impact Assessment projects, and pioneering methods of measuring active transportation. Sharon also contributes quantitative and qualitative data analysis on projects to evaluate and plan for community health needs.

She received her Master’s in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University and holds a duel B.A. in Art and Comparative Literature from Williams College. Prior to her graduate degree program, Ms. Ron was a case manager for an organization providing in-home elder care.
