Join us for a conversation with staff from Franklin, Boston, Beverly, and Arlington as they chart a path to response and recovery for artists and arts organizations. We will be sharing preliminary findings of our regional survey and discussing how to provide more outdoor cultural programming as a safe COVID-19 strategy.
On June 22nd from 4:00-5:30 pm ET, join the MAPC Public Health and Arts & Culture departments as we unveil new artworks created by nine artists and artist teams that aim to spread the word about COVID-related public health advice. The artworks are available for public use by health agencies, municipalities, community groups, and the general public. Lynn is commissioning a signature piece of art for the Mt. Vernon and Exchange Street Plaza, right next to the commuter rail station entrance—and you get to help select it.
Get to know the five artists who’ve made it to the final round before you vote for the piece you want to see! Please join the City of Lynn, Downtown Lynn Cultural District and Lynn Public Arts Commission at a public presentation of the five artists’ proposals for the “Lynnstallation.”

“Building the Foundation for our Future: Equitable Infrastructure Modernization in Massachusetts” will be hosted at College of the Holy Cross on Thursday, September 29, 2022.
After remarks from the Governor and Lt. Governor, we’ll welcome to the stage Secretaries Tesler, Acosta, Kennealy and Card to talk about the potential available funding in each of their fields, and how communities can work with the Commonwealth to make the most of this funding, followed by a brief audience Q&A.
Afternoon workshops led by senior administration officials and local leaders from across the Commonwealth provide the chance, among other things, to dive deeper into these funding opportunities, think through the challenges facing your community, and hear from other communities looking to work through those same challenges.
Finally, you’ll hear from former Baker Chief of Staff and Harvard Taubman Center Senior Fellow Steve Kadish about some of the most promising strategies for working with community members and stakeholders to make the local change that our communities need.

The Boston Urban Agriculture Strategy is a project in partnership between MAPC, GrowBoston (the City of Boston’s urban agriculture initiative), and the Urban Farming Institute (UFI).
