Help Shape the Future of Cohasset

Master Plan project will shape future growth, amenities in town

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, February 21, 2018

COHASSET – Do you live in Cohasset? Are you interested in helping to shape the community’s vision for the future?

Join the town and officials from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council to kick off the Cohasset Master Plan with a public forum on Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Senior Center, 91 Sohier St. There will be a presentation describing the master planning process, including a brief snapshot of Cohasset today to help visitors envision what they’d like to see in town for the future.

MAPC staff will be helping the town to craft a new Master Plan, focused on such issues as growth, housing, jobs and recreation.

Participants at next week’s forum will be able to visit several stations in the meeting room to provide input on topics such as helping to develop a vision statement; defining smart growth; identifying opportunities for safe biking and walking; visualizing aesthetic improvements along the Route 3A corridor; brainstorming ways to prepare Cohasset for climate change; and discussing the types of activities that community members would like to encourage in Cohasset Harbor.

Light refreshments will be served, and all ages are welcome.

To learn more about the project or ask any questions before the public forum, contact MAPC Principal Planner Ralph Willmer at [email protected] or 617-933-0734.
