Join us! ‘The Medfield Anthology’
Zoom adaptation of a walking play based on archival research and local memories of the Medfield State Hospital
MEDFIELD – The premiere of “The Medfield Anthology,” a site-informed performance piece set at the Medfield State Hospital, will take place over Zoom at 7 p.m. on June 4, 5, and 11, 2020.
“The Medfield Anthology,” created by MAPC Artist-in-Residence Hortense Gerardo depicts the history of the institution based on archival research and interviews with residents of the Town of Medfield. Audiences will be taken on a virtual tour of the former hospital as they witness nine dramatic vignettes and movement works.
This event is part of a larger placemaking initiative at the Medfield State Hospital that is being undertaken by the Town of Medfield, the Medfield Cultural Council, and the Cultural Alliance of Medfield with technical assistance from the MAPC Arts & Culture Department. The event is free and open to the public.
