MAPC Director of Clean Energy, Cammy Peterson, will present and answer questions about clean energy programs NSPC communities can get involved with. We will also hear about CTPS’s technical assistance programs, review our annual work plan, and brainstorm ideas for meeting topics for the current fiscal year.

Join us on Thursday, September 21st at 1:00pm in Hingham Town Hall. We will be joined by Peter Forman, President & CEO of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, to discuss South Shore 2030: a comprehensive economic and community development plan for the South Shore region. Peter will present the findings and critical strategies that have come out of South Shore 2030 and Ralph Willmer, Principal Planner at MAPC, will discuss MAPC’s role in the process. At a time when the nation is withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement, it is more important than ever for cities and towns to take the lead. Join us on October 11 to learn how your community can do its part.
The forum will focus on approaches to planning for net zero and tools to help municipalities set and achieve ambitious climate goals.

The Arlington Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) is working with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) on a neighborhood action plan for Arlington Heights and invite you to a community forum on May 23rd beginning at 7 p.m. at the Dallin Elementary School, 185 Florence Ave.. During the forum, representatives from DPCD and MAPC will present options for spurring neighborhood revitalization including an analysis of existing barriers to investment and potential solutions for those problems. Community participation in this meeting is key at this interactive forum.

NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT
Dear Friends of MAPC:
Out of an abundance of caution, MAPC has decided to postpone the Winter Council Meeting scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, March 10) in Framingham. Over the next few days, we will assess the situation and decide how to reschedule the Council Meeting and Legislative Panel on Housing, Transportation, and Climate. We will consider rescheduling as a virtual event, which will provide Council members and allies the opportunity to learn the latest about what is going on at the State House, without having to participate in a crowded event that might make some people uncomfortable.
I realize we sent out a note earlier this morning reminding people about the Council Meeting, and I apologize if this update causes any confusion. Still, we feel the wisest course is to postpone the meeting, and to reschedule in a different format.
