Join us for an invigorating lecture and discussion with the nationally-renowned Richard Rothstein, author of The Color of Law, about how government-imposed segregation laid the groundwork for today’s racial divisions in cities and suburbs, alike.
The Metropolitan Area Planning Council and the Metro Mayors Coalition welcome Shannon-funded partners and others from across the State to discuss best practices and emerging trends in youth gang and violence prevention. Registration is required and will close on 12/5.
The Summit will include a keynote by Thomas Abt, a senior research fellow with the Center for International Development at Harvard University and author of “Bleeding Out: The Devastating Consequences of Urban Violence–and a Bold New Plan for Peace in the Streets.”
Breakout sessions will include a law enforcement roundtable discussion and discussion of the benefits of arts-based programming for at-risk youth.
An afternoon panel will discuss best practices for building and sustaining relationships between law enforcement and youth.
What are the sources of outdoor air pollution? How does outdoor air pollution impact indoor environments? What should we consider when planning for healthy, indoor air environments? What are the health impacts of these air pollutants? What do we know about improving indoor air quality?
A panel of experts will answer these questions and more at the first webinar in our series about indoor air quality. Panelist presentations will be followed up a Q&A.
States and local government can advance policies and practices that reduce exposure to air pollution, and many have already begun this work.
