MAPC Senior Transportation Planner, David Loutzenheiser, will discuss trail planning across municipal boundaries and initial plans for expanding the trail along the former Salem and Lowell Railroad. The meeting will conclude with a walking tour of the trail through Northern Lynnfield.
The December NSPC meeting will focus on Master Planning efforts and best practices in community engagement and advisory committee creation.
This brown bag is an opportunity for municipalities to learn about resources available through the national SolSmart program. Seven MAPC communities recently received technical assistance from a SolSmart advisor to help them streamline their solar permitting and zoning and to reduce solar soft costs in their communities. Join us for the release of The State of Equity in Metro Boston Policy Agenda 2018.
In 2011, MAPC released “The State of Equity in Metro Boston,” a report providing compelling detail on inequality across many dimensions: housing, transportation, public health, and employment. In response, the MAPC Executive Committee adopted “The State of Equity in Metro Boston Policy Agenda.” In 2017, MAPC produced a five-year update to the State of Equity report which found that some progress had been made and that challenges remain.
The updated equity policy agenda represents a new proposal for collective action to strengthen the region and unlock the potential in all residents across Metro Boston.

MAPC’s Zoning Atlas, a data product years in the making, makes zoning information for all 101 of the region’s cities and towns available to the public. We invite you to join us to learn more about how to explore, use, and provide feedback on the data, and to hear more about why transparent municipal zoning information is a critical resource for the future of Greater Boston
