Help Envision Future Development Near Rockport Commuter Rail @ Rockport Library

Do you live in Rockport? Are you interested in helping to shape a future vision for the Rockport commuter rail station area?

Join the Town of Rockport and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) for a public forum on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 starting a 7 p.m. at Rockport Library, 17 School Street, to learn more about an upcoming project focused on “equitable transit-oriented development,” or eTOD.

The breakfast is an opportunity for members of MAGIC, who include planners and members of the select board, to learn a bit more about the legislative and policy priorities for your districts, and learn about the policy priorities of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council’s (MAPC) – the regional planning agency that coordinates MAGIC.  Legislators are invited to discuss their accomplishments from the past legislative session, and priorities moving forward.

At this Legislative Breakfast, we will honor U.S. Representative Congresswoman Niki Tsongas for her service. She represents Massachusetts’ 3rd Congressional District, and has served in the House since 2007. In 2018, Congresswoman Tsongas is not seeking re-election, and we will celebrate her service at the breakfast.

Arlington Heights Community Forum @ Dallin Elementary School

The Arlington Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) is working with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) on a neighborhood action plan for Arlington Heights and invite you to a community forum on May 23rd beginning at 7 p.m. at the Dallin Elementary School, 185 Florence Ave.. During the forum, representatives from DPCD and MAPC will present options for spurring neighborhood revitalization including an analysis of existing barriers to investment and potential solutions for those problems. Community participation in this meeting is key at this interactive forum.
