Fed Funds Will Aid Boston Shuttle Vans, Bike Options
Oct. 22, 2024 - "Boston is slated to gain a new shuttle van network and hundreds of Bluebikes thanks to a federal grant secured by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council... MAPC's grant proposal calls for two 14-passenger vans along each route, with 30-minute headways and one to four hours of daily operations."

Color Marblehead Sustainable Heritage Project green
Oct. 10, 2024 - The Green Marblehead Implementation Committee met on Thursday to discuss the Marblehead Sustainable Heritage Project. The project, which was awarded $25,000 in the spring by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) Technical Assistance Program, aims to integrate environmental sustainability with the preservation of the town’s architectural heritage.

'The water is going to win': Climate activists say Mass. is unprepared for future
Oct. 17, 2024 - Massachusetts is one of 14 states across the country that do not legally require a disclosure of previous flooding to prospective home buyers, and a 2023 report from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council found that the existing information on the likelihood of flooding are “poorly predictive” of where flooding is most likely to occur.

October 2024 - Caoin Springer O’Durgy and his team were busy this summer creating vibrant murals around town as part of the Regional Trails Creative Placemaking Strategy project, a collaborative effort between the town and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council.

Sept. 25, 2024 - "The big challenge of stormwater management in urban landscapes is that we have so much paved area — roads, parking lots, building tops — that don’t allow the water to naturally absorb into the ground,” said Martin Pillsbury, environmental director at the Metropolitan Area Planning Council."
