Milford’s New Comprehensive Plan
May 2024 through the Spring of 2025, the Town of Milford went through a community-based planning process to establish a long-range vision for the future of Milford, and updated its Comprehensive Plan.
At a Joint Meeting on May 20, 2025, the new Milford Comprehensive Plan was unanimously recommended for adoption by the Ad Hoc Committee to the Planning Board and the Planning Board unanimously adopted the Comprehensive Plan.
The finalized new Comprehensive Plan provides a strategic direction for decision making regarding land use, zoning, housing, transportation, economic development, and community investment in public infrastructure, facilities, and services.
The project team used valuable input received throughout the process from residents, business owners, community leaders, and other stakeholders to develop recommendations and an implementation strategy with specific actions to help the town achieve its future goals and enhance quality of life. The Milford Comprehensive Plan serves as a roadmap for the Town, with a cohesive vision and a set of goals that reflect the shared values of the community.

Project Team
The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) is the regional planning agency of the Boston Metropolitan area. We provide planning and technical assistance to the 101 cities and towns within the region. Our commitment to civic engagement is grounded in a belief that the best outcomes are achieved through collaboration and partnership.
Our primary focus throughout the project was to engage all stakeholders in the planning process to ensure that community needs and aspirations were fully understood and integrated into the plan.
